When I woke up, the sky was dark
the sun had barely shone
but when it rose
'twas quite a sight
blue hues, white clouds its throne

The day did pass
sun went its course
too soon the dusk set in
the sun sank down
and I bid farewell
as I took one final glimpse

then night did come
and warmth was scarce
in fact, it was a lie
no blanket stayed my shivering
no sun again would rise

and as the darkness persevered
as my hope began to fade
I caught a sight
a twinkling light
it was the sun, far away

far, far, far away
far away, the sun
my warmth I would never feel
my trembling I would never heal
not without the sun
far, far, far away
far away, the sun

i traveled far
along the roads
i met a face or five
they told me the sun was a myth
that it had never known our sky

i spit on them
and cursed them out
i left them far behind
i'd rather die alone tonight
than give in to their lies

far, far, far away
far away, the sun
my warmth I would never feel
my trembling I would never heal
not without the sun
far, far, far away
far away, the sun
then i started to believe them

(but it was too late)

That would make a very sensual song, or a nice rant.

I get the feeling of a lost person in a desolate world, hanging on in quiet desperation. Someone who remembers old stories and old ways, but is not necessarly old himself.

i left them far behind
i'd rather die alone tonight

So a lone survivor trekking the earth looking for the sun, or possibly some form of reinstated civilisation...

You missed alot of punctuations, unless it was intended, in which case I suggest you check it again, cause you had some capitale "I" and "T".

You also forgot to say crikey.
